My first dish

      I'll tell you a secret. It's not really my first time to cook. Way back in high school I've cooked several dishes with my mom. We used to have a carinderia on the sidewalk near our house. After a year or two we rented a small space for our convenience store which we mixed with carinderia to double the income. Our valued customers really loved my mother's specialty especially the desserts she make such as banana cue (deep fried bananas in caramelized brown sugar), ginataang bilo-bilo (sticky rice balls in coconut milk), turon (banana spring roll), etc. One of the favorites was also ginataang tambakol (tuna in coconut milk) which is quite easy to cook. So one day my mom had a sudden appointment and she couldn't make it home before afternoon. Since our customers usually eat at lunch time I decided to cook ginataang tambakol before noon. With the ingredients at hand I followed my mom's recipe and presto! I made a delicious ginataang tambakol. I was happy to hear that the customers liked the taste and was proud of myself deep inside.
